Tribute to the King
Donny Edwards, the “world’s most sought after Elvis,” will present A True Tribute to Elvis from 3-6 p.m. Sunday, May 27 at the historic Brauntex Theatre in downtown New Braunfels. This two-time world champion Elvis tribute artist will be backed by the eight member band Fever and will take you through the early years and Elvis’ Las Vegas era.

Justin Marks and Tiffani Theiss showcase his songwriting abilities through the rhythm of drums with the acoustic guitar and her dynamic voice and stage presence, in their band Justif which is playing from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, May 26 at Bell Springs Winery in Dripping Springs.
Free Concert Series at Nutty Brown
Get away from the glare of the street lights and the hum of the highway and head over to the Nutty Brown Cafe beer garden. KVET continues its very cool free concert series at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 23 featuring progressive country musician Cory Morrow.
Cutting for kids
A cut-a-thon to raise money for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children is 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday, May 25, at Total Transformation Institute of Cosmetology, 907 Hwy. 80 in San Marcos. In observance of National Missing Children’s Day, Total Transformation Institute will join with other cosmetology schools nationwide to raise money for NCMEC. Each haircut will cost $5 and all proceeds from hair, skin and nail services that day will be donated to NCMEC.
Cool treats to beat the summer heat
Central Texas Medical Center will host a free healthy cooking demonstration, “Cool Treats to Beat the Heat” from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 30 in the CTMC Community Classroom. The event will be led by the dietary and nutrition team and will focus on healthy cool, dessert fruit options for the summertime that can replace regular popsicles and ice cream.
