Church World Services has released the final donation totals for the San Marcos Hunger Crop Walk and for the second year in a row, the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship team came in first place, raising $7,966. The winning team also had the largest number of walkers, including young parents pushing kids in strollers, teenagers, and seasoned citizens decked out in yellow T-shirts and festive balloons. The grand total raised was $13,470. The Hays County Food Bank distributed more than 620,000 pounds of food in 2011, feeding more than 14,000 people throughout Hays County.
