We’d like to thank all of our Hays Free Press and News-Dispatch readers who participated in the “Best of North Hays County” for 2020.
We had 10,481 participants cast 43,452 votes for their favorite businesses or services.
The most winning business of the year was Hays City Store, placing in 13 categories. They tallied eight first place scores, being voted for Best Atmosphere, Best Bloody Mary, Best Chicken Fried Steak, Best Family Dining, Best Margarita, Best Martini, Best Restaurant and Best Steak.
Shugabee’s BBQ, located inside Buck’s Backyard, was the second winningest restaurant, placing in eight categories. They were voted for Best Barbecue, Best Catering, Best Food Truck, Best Queso and Best Restaurant Service.
A relatively new business to Dripping Springs is becoming a family favorite making it to the third winningest restaurant. Roadrunners Kitchen & Spirits and Golfcourse were voted Best Family Fun, Best Golf Course and Best Place for a Birthday Party.
Our most winning business that wasn’t in the Food category was River City Construction & Design. They were voted for Best Cabinets, Best Contractor and Best Flooring/Carpet.
We congratulate these winners and the many winners listed throughout this edition. Peruse the following pages to see who is best in their category in North Hays County based on our reader’s poll.
