Intangibles: Hays put together as complete a game as we’ve seen this year with their 56-6 dismantling of a Lockhart team that was playing some pretty good football coming into last Friday’s homecoming game at Shelton Stadium. The Rebels are back on track in their goal of competing for the district title. On paper, Clemens should present no problems for the Rebels. The Buffaloes that were state semifinalists in 2006 have long left the range. Clemens has a first-year head coach and zero wins, although they did play their best game of the season last week in a 22-16 loss to Seguin. Hays QB Caleb Kimbro and RB/WR Taven Mayberry look to be healthy again and that’s a huge plus for the Rebels. The Rebel defense got its swagger back with a powerful second half against Lockhart. Look for Hays to cruise to another easy victory Friday night at Clemens.
