Dianne B. Kunz, 65 of Mountain City, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, April 14, 2012. She was born in West Texas February 9, 1947 to Destaree and Al Blevins. She graduated from Lakeview High School in San Angelo, Texas in 1965. She met and married the love of her life, Vernon Kunz of Kerrville on October 1, 1966 at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Austin. Shortly after, they moved to San Antonio where, together, they enjoyed a full life as active parishioners of Blessed Sacrament Parish. In 1989, they moved to Mountain City and found their new church home in Santa Cruz Parish where she served as a Eucharistic minister, and Religious Education teacher among other roles.
She loved spending time with girlfriends, playing bunco, spoiling her five grandchildren and fixing abundantly good food for her family. She had a creative and joyful spirit. She enjoyed crochet, sewing projects, painting projects and beautifying her environment.
Diane is survived by her loving husband, Vernon Kunz, her three children and their spouses, Jennifer and Lane Bishop, Jeffrey and Lisa Kunz, Joy and Harry Downing, along with her five grandchildren Austin and Landon Bishop, Tristan Kunz, and Jeffrey and Jackson Downing. She is also survived by a brother Archie Blevins and his wife Linda. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, Destaree and Al Blevins.
A rosary was held Monday, April 16, 2012 at Harrell Funeral Home in Kyle, funeral service was on Tuesday, April 17 at Santa Cruz Catholic Church in Buda and burial followed at Live Oak Cemetery in Manchaca.
