Bob Chapman, of Bryan, entered his eternal rest on Friday, April 13, 2012, at the age of 48 years. Bob’s Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, April 17, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in College Station. Reverend Wade Russell officiated and Deacon Ron Fernandez assisted.
Bob was born in Harlingen, Texas to Hoyt and Valenda Ann Chapman on Friday, December 13, 1963. His family finds comfort in knowing Bob was called to his heavenly Father on Friday, April 13, 2012. A man of quiet faith, he was a gift to many people who knew him and he shared his love unconditionally with all. He married Shawn Manning Pauc on May 2, 2010.
Bob was a legendary 30-year veteran pressman of The Bryan-College Station Eagle newspaper. He was a man of deep and quiet faith and strong traditional values, who was known for his unique sense of humor. Bob was also an excellent guitarist; he knew music was a special talent of teaching others in his own way. An artist, he leaves lasting memories in his home for family and friends to relish. He found great solace in being outdoors, landscaping and creating beauty from what God had given him to work with.
We at the Hays Free Press wish to express our condolences to Bob’s family and friends at The Eagle. He helped produce our publications for several years and his special touch will be missed.
