The city of Buda received two awards from the American Planning Association (APA), both from the Texas Central Section and from the state on Outstanding Comprehensive Plan. This is a highly competitive field with many communities performing such plans but only a few spots open for recognition. At the state level, Buda was one of three that received the honor, followed by the city of Austin and the city of El Paso at the annual Texas APA Awards Luncheon held on Oct. 5. The Comprehensive Plan is a road map that guides the city’s development for the next 20 years. Such a plan takes at least a year to put together and involves working with the local community for input and feedback.
