The Lehman High School basketball team enthusiastically looked on last Wednesday as senior Lady Lobo center Ashley Stephens signed a letter of intent to play basketball next year with the University of Texas at San Antonio Roadrunners.
UTSA athletics will be joining Conference USA in 2013, providing Stephens with a chance to see plenty of action during her freshman season.
Conference USA will include the University of North Carolina-Charlotte, Florida International, Louisiana Tech, North Texas, Old Dominion, East Carolina, Marshall, Rice, Southern Mississippi, Tulane, Tulsa, the University of Alabama-Birmingham and the University of Texas-El Paso.
The standout Lady Lobo Stephens is currently leading her team in rebounding. As a junior she averaged double digits in points and rebounds.
