A Bowie High grand slam hit in the bottom of the seventh frame brought the Hays softball team’s dreams of a district title to an end Monday as the Bulldogs walked off with the 26-6A crown and a 6-3 win. The defeat dropped Hays into second in the district standings heading into postseason play. Hays opens the playoffs with a one-game, winner-take-all bi-district playoff against Vandegrift at 7 p.m. Friday at the Hays High softball complex.
