Hays CISD launches the Customer Service Corner
Hays CISD has a new “Customer Service Corner” on the district website. Visitors to the site will find a description of the district’s vision for excellent customer service, an option to email with suggestions to help improve service delivery, and links to the results of the 2012 customer service surveys. You’ll find the link on the left side of the district homepage under “Quick Links.”

There are no classes at Hays CISD campuses from Nov. 19 to 23 in celebration of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Who’s got talent? Kyle Elem. students!
Come see the Kyle Elementary School talent show from 6-9 p.m. at the Hays CISD Performing Arts Center Friday, Nov. 16.
Drawing to raise money for HelpHOPELive
Alexander Sedillo, an Elm Grove Elementary fourth-grader, is selling $10 tickets to raise money for the HelpHOPELive organization. His father, Alex Sedillo, a landscaper, has donated two (14-16 ft tall) oak trees. Tickets will be on sale at the front office through Friday, Nov. 16. HelpHOPELive is a nonprofit organization that provides financial assistance to people who receive organ transplants. A member of the Hays CISD family was recently an organ donor recipient. All of the funds raised will be donated in his honor. Contact the Sedillo family at (512) 563-2322.
Ralph Pfluger to be honored as Hero for Children
The State Board of Education (SBOE) has selected Ralph Pfluger as one of this year’s Heroes for Children. Only one person from each of the SBOE districts in Texas is selected for this honor annually. Pfluger, namesake for Ralph Pfluger Elementary School in Hays CISD, will be honored at the State Board of Education meeting in Austin on Nov. 16.
Hays High theater change of show time
The Hays High School Theater had to change the date of its last performance of “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.” Due to the Hays Rebels Playoff game being held at Shelton Stadium this Friday night, the Friday performance has been rescheduled to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Burdine Johnson Theater.
Pumpkin pie puppets
The San Marcos Public Library presents “The Runaway Pumpkin Pie,” an entertaining holiday tale just right for children ages two and up. The popular library puppeteers will present shows at 10 and 11 a.m. this Friday.
