Looks so nice to see water in Onion Creek. Come on rain, we want more, more and more.


Although Rita Durham, who lives on South Turnersville Road, had a little too much rain last week. She had wet carpet and furniture and a big mess to clean up. Thanks to Durham’s brother, who has spent this week building a retaining wall at the back of her house to prevent future flooding.

Stefani Koehn ran the 3M Half Marathon in Austin on Sunday and finished with a time of 2:36:06. All her Buda fans are very proud of her!

Birthday wishes go out to Kara Huesser and Pat Williams on Feb. 3; Marie Diaz, Tom Gamboa and Lori Lynn Lowden on Feb. 5; Carol Gordon on Feb. 6; Viola Roach on Feb. 7.

So glad to that Helen Acala was not seriously injured after falling at her home last week, only a little sore. Faye Fletcher and Betty Slang have both had recent eye surgeries.

The Buda Downtown Merchants Group is spreading a little love with the beginning of “First Thursday” for the year on Feb. 2. Show your love for downtown Buda by coming down for dinner and shopping.

The monthly meeting of the Buda Chamber of Commerce will be Wednesday, Feb. 8, at 11:30 a.m., at Good Shepherd Ministries, 401 RR 967, just three blocks west of Main Street across from Buda Elementary School.
