SUBMITTED REPORT
After further interviews and continued investigation, the Kyle Police Department has learned that the reported assault of a high school student earlier this week did not occur, according to a news release from the city of Kyle.
According to Kyle Police Chief Jeff Barnett, police have credible information indicating that the events as initially described did not occur and the investigation is being closed.
“Crimes of this nature will always be priorities for our department and we are glad that this particular incident can be put to rest," said Chief Barnett in the news release.
Kyle police also remind everyone, especially young people, to follow the “Stranger Danger” rules taught in the schools, always have a friend or friends with you, and be sure that others know where you are and where you are going.
