Summer fun for the little ones

Orphan Annie
Come watch a classic under the summer night stars as the EmilyAnne Theatre presents “Annie.” Sing along with Annie on her adventures, her escape from the orphanage and her new life with Daddy Warbucks each weekend evening in June beginning at 8:15 p.m.


Sketchfest

Get ready to party hardy at the Sketchfest and Buda Library Summer Kick-Off Party, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 7. There will be train rides, face painting, balloon twisting, craft booths, games and popcorn at Buda City Park Pavilion.


Anansi and the Magic Rock
Just right for kiddos ages 2 and up, the San Marcos library puppeteers will be throwing open the curtain for four showings of “Anansi and the Moss-Covered Rock,” a favorite African folktale. Kick back and get lost in the magic at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 5 and three times on Wednesday: 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.


Something fishy
Everyone is invited to the Kid Fish “Catch Tank” a 2,300 gallon tank filled with catfish for catch and release fishing. In an attempt to instill an appreciation for fishing as well as environmental conservation, this is a family event promoting balance and stewardship. Chuck Nash, 3209 I-H 35 N. Summer reading program
Summer reading programs begin at all three public libraries the first Monday of summer, June 4. Pick up your reading logs and start reading. Stay tuned to the Hays Free Press for upcoming events happening at the library all summer long.


Bonzo the Clown
Join Ringling Brothers Bonzo Crunch Clown for a rollicking story time at 11 a.m. Monday, June 4 at the brand spanking new Kyle Public Library.
