Breakfast with Santa bazaar
Blanco Vista Elementary is having its annual Breakfast with Santa holiday bazaar from 8-11 a.m. Dec. 8. Sponsored by the Blanco Vista PTA, all proceeds will help the school finance field trips, student incentives, teacher incentives, reading programs and more. Anyone interested in selling merchandise, arts and crafts or specialty items should contact Robin Burr at (210) 452-7044, evenings, or Kay Ferris at (210) 601-9813, daytime. Spaces will rent for $15.


 


Dahlstrom choir holiday concert
The Dahlstrom Middle School 7th-8th grade choir will perform a holiday concert at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 7 at the Manchaca Baptist Church, 1215 W. FM 1626.


 


HCISD Mariachi Boosters presents Las Posadas
The Hays CISD Mariachi Boosters will present Las Posadas at Fuentes Elementary School at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 7.  Join the group for its first-ever Community Cultural Celebration of the traditional candlelit procession, beginning promptly at 6:45 p.m.; dinner will be available after the show for $6. Entertainment will be provided by the Lehman High School Mariachis.  Proceeds from this event benefit the Hays CISD Mariachi Scholarship Program.


 


Bazaar to benefit Project Graduation
The Hays High School Project Graduation is hosting a holiday fundraiser for the graduation night event that aims to prevent students from drinking and driving. Join the cause, for some holiday shopping and get a jump on Christmas. Items will include handbags, a variety of affordable jewelry, wickless candles, baked goods, gift wrap and more. The bazaar is from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Hays High School Cafeteria.


 


A Tribute to Tito Puente
The Latin Music Studies Area at Texas State University and the San Marcos High School Band will host “A Tribute to ‘El Rey del Timbal,’ Tito Puente” at 7 p.m. on Dec. 5 at the San Marcos High School Auditorium. The show will honor the life and work of the late Grammy Award-winning Latin jazz and mambo composer, Tito Puente (1923-2000).  The concert will feature Tito Puente Jr., Texas State’s Salsa del Rio, Orquesta Cascabel from San Marcos High School and Go2Danz Studios. This is a free, all ages concert.
