Buda Chamber of Commerce
My first column … It’s quite the humbling experience to be hired by our Buda Chamber’s esteemed Board of Directors to succeed retiring President Dick Schneider. Thank you, Dick, for your time and service to our community.
With leadership changes, there comes the challenge of directing the organization forward in a positive manner. Assess strengths and weaknesses. Then, devise a strategic plan with broad appeal to be responsive to member needs.
That’s why initial plans call for a member survey to gain insight into our business community. We’ll check the pulse and take copious notes, mindful that we are not completely out of a recession. Our Resource Development Committee, therefore, is planning a comprehensive program to rejuvenate our constituent base with expanded networking, leadership venues and small business/computer training sessions.
And did I mention our very energetic monthly luncheons always held the second Wednesday? The Buda Chamber has a stunning array of informative, entertaining speakers scheduled. The lineup includes:
March 14: Gail Jaszsz, Spectrum Management on “How employee behavior influences your company brand,”
April 11: Dr. Pauline Sullivan – “Merchandizing in the small city landscape,”
May 9: Dr. Denise Smart, TX State MBA;
June 3: Brig. Gen. Bill Welch “leadership in business”… just to name a few.
We encourage you to attend one of our luncheons, but space is limited; please call 295-9999 for a reservation and Patsy will give you all the details.
P.S. Thanks to our community for supporting our very successful Viva Las Vegas awards gala on February 18.
