Enjoy an afternoon of great music, good food and fun activities on the river and help support the Kemp’s Ridley Sea Turtle Recovery Project. Music by Alvin Crow with washer pitching, ring toss, frisbee challenges, kid’s games and roving magicians. Also, the 50th annual Texas Water Safari, billed as the “world’s toughest canoe race,” will pass by the festival as contestants navigate the Martindale dam. Sea Turtle, Inc. and the Gladys Porter Zoo will partner to present educational exhibits. Admission is free, but all proceeds go to support on-the-ground turtle conservation efforts along the Gulf of Mexico, so a $5 donation is appreciated. 1-7 p.m. Saturday at the Old Gin Mill, 204 Main Street, Martindale.
