Roaches celebrate 50 years

by SANDRA GRIZZLE

Ruby Ranch Lodge was the location of the 50th anniversary party for Wesley and Joyce Roach last Saturday night. The party, which was given by their three children, was well attended by about 300 of their closest friends and relatives. All enjoyed a barbeque dinner, along with delicious cakes and being a part of the golden celebration of a much-loved Buda couple.

Congratulations to Roy Erdahl, minister of Good Shepherd Ministries, and wife Diane, who will celebrate 44 years of marriage on Aug. 17.

Birthday wishes go out to Jean Holbrook on Aug. 16; Michael Fry on Aug. 16; Gus Carrillo on Aug.17; Autry Burns, Ray Conley and John Kinnett on Aug. 18; Melayne Montgomery Marchese and Margaret Zander on Aug. 19, James Morgan on Aug. 21.

Randal and Sara Grizzle returned home Saturday night after 10 days of touring Switzerland and the surrounding area. They had a fabulous time but are glad to be home again, and especially glad to see their boys.

The new executive director of the Buda Area Chamber of Commerce is Cindy Swink. Stop by the Chamber office on Railroad Street and welcome her to the job.

Jennifer Denton has moved her skin care business to the Carrington House at 320 N. Main St. in downtown Buda.

JoAnn Thames is home now after receiving a pacemaker last Thursday at Seton-Hays Hospital.

Remodeling work continues at Buda Grocery & Grill. When compete, the inside of the 100-year-old building will take on a “new look” for our downtown Main Street and offer families a fun place to have a meal, play various games and hear good music.

Looks like there may be a special election on Nov. 6 for residents of the city of Buda to fill the unexpired term of Council Member Dawn Schaeffer who officially resigned last week.
