Steel Magnolias, an exciting and inspirational gospel group of “mature” ladies, will be performing at First Baptist Church of Buda on Sunday, July 29. A pie social will start at 5 p.m. with music at 6 p.m. at 104 South San Marcos Street in Buda.

The public is invited to the ribbon cutting of Provident Memory Care at 645 RR 967 at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 30. Refreshments will be served and tours of the facility will be given by the staff. Provident Memory Care, assisted living for residents with dementia, was formerly Arveda Alzheimer’s Family Care.

The Buda Chamber of Commerce will meet at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 8 at Good Shepherd Ministries, 401 RR 967, across from Buda Elementary School. The guest speaker will be Dr. Jeremy Lyon, superintendent of Hays CISD. Members are requested to bring a new backpack, which will be donated to a child in the Hays school district.

Mike Manning and Ralph Pfluger on July 30; Ginny Harlow and 97-year-old Helen McCaughan on July 31. Birthday wishes to Jesse Logan on the first day of August. Anniversary wishes to Steve and Charlotte Quisenberry on their 22nd wedding day on July 27 and to Buda City Council member Todd Ruge and wife Elizabeth on their sixth anniversary on August 1.

So glad to hear that Pat (Jones) Shoemaker has had a truly amazing recovery after having surgery and is now at Legend Oaks at Plum Creek. She should be there for a couple of weeks and then home.
