Ronald Lee Westbrook Sr., 57, of Kyle, died Monday, March 26, 2012 at Brackenridge Hospital from complications of abdominal trauma.
Ron was born in Luling on Sept. 23, 1954 to William S. and Dorothy Westbrook, and graduated from Luling High School in 1973. He attended the Travis County Sheriff’s Academy and had worked in law enforcement in the past for Gonzales County Sheriff’s Office, Wackenhut Corrections in Lockhart and was employed with the Hays County Sheriff’s Office as a Corrections Officer from 2001 until his passing.
He is survived by his wife Gretchen Bergmann Westbrook of Kyle, two adult children, Ronald Lee Westbrook Jr. of McQueeney and Johnathan Westbrook of Seguin, an adult stepson, Jesse Lucas Bergmann of Kyle, his stepdaughter (god-daughter) Yahva Yahel Bergmann of Kyle, his mother Dorothy Westbrook of Luling and his brother, Kenneth Westbrook of Odessa. Ron is also survived by eight grandchildren, two nieces and one nephew.
Memorial services were conducted Saturday, April 7 at Harrell Funeral Home in Kyle by Brother Noe Treviño.
As per his request, his ashes will be interred on the property in Blue where he had been planning to retire.
