Landa Harrison Hardin, 63, of Buda, passed away after a long and valiant fight with lung disease on April 7, 2012, at the Christopher House in Austin. Landa was surrounded by adoring family and friends, and shared her last breath with her loving husband, Ricky Hardin.
Landa was born in Lubbock on February 28, 1949 to Darleene Herring and the late Robert G. Harrison. Landa is survived by her husband, Ricky Hardin; daughter, Marnee Gamble Bolen; son, Cole Jones; and granddaughter, Ella Anne Bolen, her sister Terri Herring Bauer; brothers Robert G. Harrison, Kelly Herring, Dusty Ray Harrison, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sister Beverley Elwell and her loving stepfather T.G. Herring.
Landa was known for her many talents and passions, kindness, generosity, and her commitment to success as an entrepreneur and businesswoman. Landa was a lifetime supporter and lover of the Lubbock music scene and she has touched many lives throughout her incredible journey in life.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 20 at First United Methodist Church in Lubbock. Many of her friends will also be gathering at Peggy’s Garden in the Depot District on Friday evening.
