Robert Raymond Luter (1924-2012)

Robert Raymond Luter, 87, of Buda, went to be with his Lord on January 18, 2012, following a lengthy illness. He was born in Texarkana, Arkansas on October 1, 1924 to Raymond and Mary Luter. After graduating from high school, he joined the Army Air Corps and was stationed in London during WWII. After his military service, he attended the University of Texas and earned a B.A. in Fine Arts. Later, he would earn an M.S. from the Texas College of Arts and Industries. He began his career teaching distributive education in Corpus Christi. Later, he and his family moved to Austin, where he wrote college curriculum for the University of Texas. Bob also enjoyed serving his church, spending many years as a deacon, elder and teacher.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Grace Fauver, daughter Martha Emerick, and brother Bill Luter. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Carolyn Luter, son Robert Luter and his wife Bridgett, granddaughters Sarah and Rachel Luter, grandson Ralph Jolley and his wife Kassie, great-grandsons J.W. and Jake Jolley, granddaughter Tiffany Jolley, stepson Jimmy Pribble, stepson Michael Pribble and his wife Vanessa, stepdaughter Barbara Smith, grandchildren Chase and Ashley Pribble, grandchildren Bryan and Kyndale Rivas, Dawson and Camille Ray, daughter-in-law Kimberly Pribble, sister Cynthia Porier, nieces, nephews, and many wonderful friends who helped attend to him in his last week. As much as Bob loved his family, he loved the Lord Jesus Christ first and foremost, serving him faithfully for all of his adult life.

Services were held on Sunday, January 15 at Hays Hill Baptist Church in Buda, with burial at Cook-Walden/Memorial Hill Cemetery in Pflugerville. To share memories of Bob with his family, please visit www.cookwaldencapitalparks.com.
