Susan Flanagan, the new principal of Santa Cruz Catholic School, has created a new tradition in which each grade level chooses a country and spends the month learning about its culture, food, clothing and costumes. This year first grade students dove into the culture of Spain, learning about nuns, priests, and another famous Spaniard, Christopher Columbus. First graders Pedro Marchessini and Mia Nieto present some of the artwork their class created during their recent international studies.
