What they’re saying: “There are two seniors on our offense right now, Bradley Braxton and Cruz Banda. You’re talking about a lot of kids that played JV last year, so not only are they new to the system, they’re new to playing varsity football. We’ve really got to make a push and get better and eliminate mental errors. It’s a process, but we’ll get there,” Lehman head coach Todd Raymond.
Players to Watch:
Lehman: RB Paul Brown, WR Brandon Hamilton, DB Tyler Hyss, DB Kyron Morrissette
Cedar Ridge: OL Austin Edgemond, RB Daniel Williams, WR Marcus Bailey, LB Antonio Goodlow
Intangibles: Both schools will have something to prove on Friday night. The Lobos got a taste of football success in 2011, when they put together the first winning season in school history, and now they’re hoping to turn the corner and fight for a playoff spot. Cedar Ridge, the largest school in Central Texas, is playing its first year of varsity football after its two JV squads put together a combined 17-2 record last year. The Raiders are coached by Todd Ford, a former offensive coordinator at the University of North Texas and high school powerhouse Southlake Carroll.
