Members of the Onion Creek Senior Citizens of Buda would like to extend thanks to PEC for presenting them with a check in the amount of $1,000 last week at the reception at the Kyle office. Other non-profit organizations from Hays County also were given checks as part of the PEC employees’ 2012 Light the Way Program.


National Library Week is April 9-14. Our local library has special events planned for April 12 and April 14. Check with the library for more details and check out a good book to read too.

On Thursday, April 12, Pearl Doherty will be 99 years old. The Pearl of Buda lived here for many years until she had to move to Deer Creek Nursing Home. Friends can make her day special by sending cards to the nursing home at 555 FM 3237, Wimberley, TX 78676.

Time for “First Thursday” again this week. Ya’ll come on downtown Buda for strolling, shopping, eating and entertainment.

The big Buda Egg Hunt is Saturday, April 7 at the Buda Sportsplex. Not only will there be thousands of eggs to find but there will also be a petting zoo, inflatable games, trackless train, face painting and pictures with the Easter Bunny (bring your camera). Join the fun starting at 9 a.m.

The Buda High Forever Reunion is coming up on Saturday, April 14 at the “old” Buda High School. The doors open at 9:30 a.m., hope to see you there.

Remember the Buda Farmers Market is open from 9 a.m. until noon every Saturday on Main Street at RR 967 next to Buda City Hall.
