Jody Delgado of Kyle was recently honored by the American Cancer Society as a 2013 Hero of Hope.
She was one of 28 cancer survivors and caregivers in the six-state High Plains Division to be selected.
Delgado, a breast cancer survivor, is the sponsorship chair for the annual Kyle/Buda Relay For Life event. She is also a Road to Recovery driver and an ACS CAN advocate.
She was a caregiver to her mother, Diane Ivey, and her grandmother, Gladys Zercher, when they had cancer.
The Relay For Life will take place from 7 p.m.-7 a.m. April 19, 2013, at Barton Middle School. For more information, visit relayforlife.org/budakyletx.
