The Buda Area Chamber of Commerce recently partnered with the Austin Chamber of Commerce for the 4th Annual Austin Chamber Speed Networking Event. The room quickly filled with eager networking participants looking to meet and greet. Copa Bar and Grill’s upstairs room was networking central for more than 80 business men and women wearing smiles, business cards in hand. Each had one minute to give a sales pitch.
The night was a huge success for the Buda Chamber members who made the trek north into Austin. These members were able to practice their business pitches in a controlled environment while networking with many of the Austin businesses in attendance. They all reported that they looked forward to attending the next one. Groups of eight were assembled at a table and each person was given one minute to present his or her “elevator pitch” to the rest of the table. When the bell rang, the next person would take his turn, and so on, until all eight had spoken. After all eight had spoken, a number was drawn and each person rotated to a different table with new faces, and the networking opportunity began again.
This spin on “Speed Dating” was a fun and entertaining event that proved to be time well spent.
This is just one example of how the Buda Area Chamber of Commerce is working to create more networking opportunities for our members.
