At its regular November meeting, the Hays CISD Board of Trustees recognized Saint Elizabeth’s in Buda, which has “adopted” the second grade at Tom Green, for its support of the school, teachers and students. The church has funded the purchase of summer reading materials for students, delivered a wagonload of art supplies to art teacher Chelsea Moody, cleaned up the second grade garden and provided “seed money” for that living educational tool, and is currently installing stocked aquariums in second-grade classrooms. “The relationships with the student and teachers at Tom Green give us joy, energy and hope for the future of our community,” said the Rev. Jennifer Brooke-Davidson, pastor of Saint Elizabeth’s. “Mentoring, supporting science, art and reading – what investment could possibly be more fun or more rewarding?  We encourage others to get involved in our outstanding Hays schools. It’s a win-win!”
