4-H’ers in fashion

STAFF REPORT


The Hays County 4-H Roundup and Clothing Contest was held on April 3 in Buda and included public speaking and performance contests in 21 categories. Priscilla Ruiz provided an educational presentation entitled “Bunnies 101.”  Arielle Wortham presented “Steer Roping: Getting Started.” Presenting “My Story” was Abby Linam. The team of Will Herron and Mikayla Wenzel presented “How to Manage Your Ranch for Whitetails.” The winners have earned the opportunity to advance to District 4-H Roundup, which will be held on Saturday, April 21, at Comfort High School.


In the Clothing Contest, Rachel McDaniel made a two-piece ensemble of a cotton calico print and a bottom-weight cotton blend. Rachel will participate in the District 4-H Senior Fashion Show on Sat., April 21, at Comfort High School. She is also competing in the Cotton Natural Fibers Contest. Rebekah McDaniel made a two-piece outfit of 100 percent printed cotton and will represent Hays County in the District 4-H Junior/Intermediate Fashion Show on July 16.  This is the second trip to the district level for both girls.
