Local fans of Nick Watney were super excited Sunday as they watched on TV as he won The Barclays in Farmingdale, New York. Always nice when someone you are familiar with wins big. Also know all his Buda family are happy too. With the win, Watney now has a shot at the $10 million prize at the Tour Championship next month, and also he may make it to the Ryder Cup, which will not pay a penny!
Thursday, Sept. 6, is “First Thursday” for the Buda Downtown Merchants. Special activities are planned for this very special time as we observe the theme “Remembering Buda.” Come to the town Main Street and see what is going from 5 to 9 p.m. In addition to the shops staying open late, there will be food, music and entertainment. The side street next to Memory Lane Antiques will be closed and set up with food, drinks, entertainment – all in celebration of the 35 years that Memory Lane has been doing business in downtown Buda. Be sure to stop by and visit with all the folks.

With the start of school for the Hays CISD students, life gets back to somewhat of a normal routine for many families. The Buda Public Library will get back on schedule with story times the first week in September. Of course it also means there will be more vehicles on our roads, so do slow down and drive with care.
