Martin H. Keller, 93, went to be with his beloved wife and his Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, March 18, 2012. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Martin was born on December 27, 1918 in Turnersville, Texas. He was a lifelong resident of Austin, husband of the late Alice Jeannette Cain Keller.
He is survived by his three sons, Kenneth W. Keller and wife, Paula M. Johnston Keller, Sammy G. Ferdinandtsen and wife, Darlene Alesich Ferdinandtsen, George Richard Ferdinandtsen and wife, Joy Logan Ferdinandtsen; one daughter, Margaret Ann Ferdinandtsen Peterson and husband, Rudolph C. Peterson. He had 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
He was a graduate of Buda High School in Buda. After moving to Austin he went to work for the United States Post Office, where he worked for 34 years before retiring. He was an active member of the Church of Glad Tidings for many years. As a member of the super seniors, when the doors were open he was there to greet you, and make you feel welcome.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 23 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service Saturday, March 24 at 10 a.m. at Faith Assembly of God Church located at 1030 Main Street in Buda. Interment will follow at Live Oak Cemetery in Manchaca.
