Remember when there were no hotels within 15 miles of our little town? Now looks like Buda will get its fifth hotel. Microtel is moving ahead with plans for building on the property at the corner of Cabela’s Drive and Old San Antonio Road.

The Buda High School class of 1962 will be having a 50th year reunion party on Friday, April 13. The event will be held at El Gallo Restaurant at 2910 S. Congress in Austin from 4 until 6 p.m. The classess of 1961 and 1963 are also invited to join in. Cost is $20 per person. Also coming up for all you Buda Bulldogs is the annual reunion on Saturday, April 14 at the old Buda High School. Mark the date on your calendar and plan to be there.

The Buda Elementary School PTA is currently planning their largest fundraiser of the year, the annual carnival. The date is Saturday, March 3 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. They are looking for vendors and sponsors for the event. The cost is $25 to set up a table and sell your wares or have your business advertised on a game booth. Donations for the silent auction are also needed. Another date to mark on your calendar is Thursday, March 8. That is the annual membership meeting, auction and lunch at the Onion Creek Senior Center in Buda. More to come on this 29th annual event.

A big “thank you” to our local Girl Scouts for the Valentine’s decorating at the Onion Creek Senior Center last week. Also thank you for the Girl Scouts cookies! Everyone enjoyed all the treats.
