Date rape reported in Kyle

A 52-year-old woman reported being raped by a 47-year-old male acquaintance early Friday, authorities say.

The woman told deputies who responded to Seton Medical Center Hays that she went out for drinks with the man and eventually ended up in bed with him. However, she said that the sexual intercourse was nonconsentual, a Hays County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said.

Authorities would not say where the alleged crime occurred. No arrests have been made.

AGUIRRE

Man stabbed twice in the back

A 19-year-old man was stabbed twice in the back during an altercation at a Kyle home Sunday, authorities say.

Jose Aguirre, 20, was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony, for using a large kitchen knife to stab the man at a home in the 200 block of Mathias Lane, a Hays County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said.

The injured man did not suffer serious injuries and was not transported to the hospital, the spokesperson said.

Paige man cops to murder

A Bastrop County judge has sentenced a Paige man to 45 years in prison for his role in the murder of his roommate and dumping the body in a wooded area southwest of Kyle, officials say.

Dustin Dickman, 24, accepted a plea agreement March 1 after he pled guilty to the murder of Michael Van Dyke, a 23-year-old former San Marcos native, Bastrop County Assistant District Attorney Greg Gilleland said Tuesday.

Also charged in the Van Dyke murder is Dennis Don Leetch, 26, of San Marcos, who is set to go to trial on March 21, Gilleland said.
