Man to stand trial for attack in RV park

A Hays County jury has indicted a Kyle man on a charge he physically attacked his girlfriend when he thought she was sleeping with another man.

David Wayne Renfro, 38, was arrested Jan. 18 and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, a first-degree felony, after he allegedly assaulted the woman as she slept in their trailer at the Plum Creek RV Resort in south Kyle.

According to an affidavit used to secure an arrest warrant, Renfro pulled her hair with both hands before throwing her to the ground and into a space heater. During the attack, he  stabbed a cell phone in front of her face and kicked her in the back, causing her to fall out the trailer, the affidavit states.

Renfro remains in custody at Hays County Jail on a $50,000 bond for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. If convicted, he could be sentenced to two to 99 years in prison.

Indictment accuses Kyle man of raping teen girl

A 41-year-old man has been indicted for allegedly raping a teenage family member while she stayed at his Kyle home in July 2010, authorities say.

After his wife and child left the Burleson Street home, an arrest warrant affidavit alleges, Felix Sandoval forced his way into the bedroom where the 15-year-old girl was sleeping and forced sexual intercourse with her.

The girl made the allegations to police on Nov. 15 which Sandoval has denied, the affidavit states.

Sandoval remains in custody at Hays County Jail on a $60,000 bond and is charged with sexual assault of a child, a second-degree felony.
