Starting to look a lot like Christmas... already

Buda Bits

by SANDRA GRIZZLE

Lights and decorations are going up all around town, which makes it feel like Christmas is coming, and it is just Thanksgiving week. Downtown Main Street will be all aglow starting Friday, Nov. 25 when the Christmas lights come on at dusk. City employees have been very busy getting the lights up on all the buildings in old town.

Have you seen the white water tank on Main Street? It is still white but now the Buda logo has been painted on both sides. Looks nice!

The Buda Library is asking for book donations for the annual book sale that takes place during Budafest. Books should be in good, clean condition and can be dropped off at the library during normal hours before Wed., Nov. 30. As a reminder, the library will be closed on Thursday and Friday of this week and will open at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Jot down on your calendar Dec. 1 for downtown Buda’s “First Thursday” event. Come downtown to enjoy the restaurants, shopping and entertainment in old town Buda. Buda City Hall and the Buda Annex will have open house from 5 to 7 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. Friends of the Buda Library will have their annual book sale for members only (if not a member - membership available at the door) from 6 until 8 p.m. at the library on Thursday and Friday nights.  The public book sale will be held during Budafest.

Keep in mind that the 32nd annual Budafest is Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 3 and 4!

Birthday wishes go out to Billy Evans on Nov. 27 (finally got the date right), Elizabeth Lancaster on Nov. 29 who will celebrate her 93rd birthday and Nancy Taylor on Nov. 30.

Have a tasty Thanksgiving and “Go Horns!” Give us a win!
