The 115th annual Camp Ben McCulloch Reunion is set for June 17-24 of this year. Make your plans now to come out for the eight day reunion to enjoy music, dancing, camping, swimming (hopefully there will be water in Onion Creek), food, carnival, bingo, games and lots of visiting with family and friends. Watch for more reunion information in the next few weeks.

The downtown Buda Farmers Market will open the season Saturday, May 14 from 9 a.m. until noon on Main Street across from Garcia’s Restaurant. Opening day festivities will feature the Manchaca Community Garden, Hays High School Project Graduation and the Austin Family Jewels who will be performing from 10 a.m. until noon. Featured farmers include Gray Farm, Big Oaks Farm, Wild Bill Pickles, Nana’s Country Kitchen and Dripping Springs Peaches.

The white flag flying in front of Buda City Hall is in honor of the recent award given to the city by The Water Environment Association of Texas for having the Wastewater Treatment Plant of the Year in category 1.

A benefit sale will be held Saturday, May 14 from 7:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Ministries at 401 RR 967 for Faith Weatherford. The Texas School for the Deaf has selected Weatherford to attend an educational/science event in Florida this summer. Many of you will remember that Weatherford was badly burned when she was 21 months old and has had to undergo many surgeries in her short life. She is a very lovely, deserving teenager and it is great that the community can help her. Should you desire to contribute items to the sale contact JoAnn Keller at 295-2416.
