Speaking of dogs, for those that may be new to the area or unfamiliar with pet requirements, the city of Buda requires all pets (dogs & cats) to be registered.  Proof of rabies vaccination is also required. The City registration tag should be affixed to the animal by a properly fitting collar. To register pets and obtain pet tags, contact the Utility Billing Department at (512) 295-8845.

Please remember that the city of Buda has a restraint law that requires all animals to be secured by a fence or a leash at all times. In addition, the City has an ordinance for barking dogs that falls under Public Nuisance and Prohibited Noise. The ordinance states that any animal that interferes with the comfortable enjoyment of private homes by persons of ordinary sensibilities is prohibited and declared to be a nuisance.

As we fast approach the summertime weather, please remember to take extra precautions with your pets in the extreme hot weather. Pets that are left outside should have shelter that gives them adequate shade from the sun. Pets also need access to water at all times in the heat. If there are any questions, please contact Animal Control at (512) 312-1001.
