Ridiculous, childish, and a joke?

The prestigious Pew Report was cited by NBC News anchor Brian Williams, commenting on the Monday evening nightly news on August 1, 2011, as finding that as many as 92 % of Americans actually believe our present Congress’ behavior is “ridiculous, childish…and a joke.”

Ah, ha! Finally, the majority of thinking Americans are “getting” it! Now, if we can just “tweak” that thinking a bit, most of us will be patriotic enough to show up at the polls come election day and vote someone in who’ll actually “get’er done”.

Admittedly, I’m not all that well versed in political acumen. Nor do I grasp all the implications of an entire country coming to the very brink of utter bankruptcy. The mere prospect of losing access to what few “entitlements” are due me scares me to no end. He, Uncle Sam, isn’t giving me anything. I’ve earned every penny of that meager Social Security check directly deposited into my floundering checking account each month.

But, if Congress and our President insist on treating us to the process producing the latest boondoggle they wistfully called compromise, I’m gonna need more than “Obama Care” to survive it!
