I have a number of trees in my yard and that means I have lots of leaves. At one time I could put the leaves in a plastic bag and/or tie up small limbs, and they would be picked up. Now Texas Disposal System has put three different containers in my yard, whether I wanted them or not, one for “Recycle”, one for “Compost”, and one for “Trash.” I am being told they will not pick up any compost material unless it is in that one special container. Last year I had about 30 bags of leaves, put five or six out each week. Now I am being told if I have bags of leaves to be picked up it will cost me $5.00 per bag. I have to buy stickers from the city to get this done. I would like to know who forgot to take their pills for “Stupidity” and signed that agreement with TDS. I am now paying $18.64 a month for pick up Plus $5.00 for each bag of leaves. I want to keep my yard clean, but feel I can no longer afford it. Maybe I should put up a yard sign “Free Leaves For Mulch”.
