Buda Bits

It is beginning to look a lot like a Budafest weekend. The big two-day event is this Saturday and Sunday. A parade down Main Street at 10 a.m. will kick things off on Saturday morning. There will be lots of food, arts and crafts booths, free entertainment, carnival rids for the kids and, of course, Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus will be in town. The local businesses along Main Street will be open and ready for shoppers. There will be paid parking, which benefits Project Graduation, behind the pavilion at City Park (follow the signs) and on-street parking on various streets.
The Friends of the Buda Library Book Sale will open December 1st and 2nd in the evening from 6 to 8 p.m. for the Members Preview Book Sale. The preview is open to current members of the Friends and memberships are available at the door. There are lots of great books for Christmas gifts or for your cozy winter reading. The regular book sale will be on Saturday and Sunday during Budafest.
The Onion Creek Senior Citizens are asking for community support of their Budafest booth which will be stocked with home baked goods and handmade items. The booth is located under the old oak tree across from the gazebo. Also, show your support for the Buda seniors by purchasing raffle tickets for the handmade quilt drawing. Quilt tickets are $1 each or six for $5. The drawing for the winner of the quilt will be held Sunday evening at the Knights of Columbus dinner at Santa Cruz Catholic Church. You need not be present to win.
