San Antonio-Edison at Lehman

When: Friday 7:30 pm

Where: Shelton Stadium

Records: Lehman 1-0, Edison 0-1

Last Week: Lehman 20-St. Michael’s 9; Pleasanton 41, Edison 8

Last Meeting: Lehman 28, Edison 21 (2010)

What they’re saying: “It was a very physical game, which was good for us. Our kids never let up and I’m proud of their effort.”- Lehman head coach Steve Davis after the Lobos beat St. Michael’s last Friday night.

Edison Offense: Option

Edison Defense: Split

Lehman Offense: Multiple

Lehman Defense: 4-3

Players To Watch: Lehman – QB Matt Anguiano, WR/DE Matt Riojas, LB Jon Frazier, RB Levi Medley, LB/RB Charles Williams, WR Jaylon Hardaway, OL Kenny Higgins, OL Ethan Martin, TE Julio Besa

Edison – QB Joe Alvarez, RB Andre Richardson, WR Seth Henry, Jeremiah Riojas, LB Eduardo Guevara, LB John Alvarado.

Intangibles: Lehman knocked off an Edison team last season that ultimately went on to finish 8-3 and lose in the first round of the playoffs. The Golden Bears return nine players from that team, and should be hungry after Pleasanton stole their lunch money in a 41-8 season opening whipping last weekend. Lehman can’t take Edison for granted even though the Lobos are playing their home opener in front of a crowd that’s sure to be fired up. If Lehman can build on its win last week against tough private school St. Michael’s, the Lobos should walk out of Shelton Stadium with a win Friday night

Free Press Prediction: Lehman 27, Edison 13
