Nationally known band, Little Texas, will headline the kickoff dinner and auction for the United Way of Hays County’s Celebrity Classic golf tournament at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 30 at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center.

The dinner and auction is part of three days of events surrounding the golf tournament, which benefits the United Way’s 15 partner agencies. Individual tickets for the event are $75, and a table sponsorship of $1,000 can be purchased at unitedwayhaysco.org, or by calling 512-353-1420.

Little Texas, who recently celebrated its 20th anniversary in the music business, has been a Nashville-based group since 1989. The group won an Academy of Country Music Award in 1994 for “Vocal Group of the Year” and has also received a CMT award, a Billboard award and a Grammy nomination for their album “Big Time.”  They are set to perform a semi-acoustic show featuring all of their classic songs including “God Blessed Texas,” “What Might Have Been” and “My Love.”

“Having Little Texas perform at our event is extremely exciting for me as I grew up listening to and loving their music,” said United Way of Hays County executive director Michelle Harper.
