Bulldogs have their days

Buda Bits
by SANDRA GRIZZLE

The Bulldogs are coming to town this Friday and Saturday, April 8-9. On Friday evening the 50th reunion for the class of 1961 will gather at Ruby Ranch Lodge at 6 p.m., along with the invited classes of 1960 and 1962. The reunion committee has spent many hours planning this event and they look forward to a night of entertainment, good food and hours of walking down memory lane with their fellow classmates.

The Buda High Forever Reunion starts at 10 a.m., Saturday morning at the Old Buda High School, now Buda Elementary School. Students, teachers and Bulldog friends are welcome to attend. Raffle tickets will be on sale for $2 each for a chance to win a beautiful handmade quilt, thanks to quilt makers, Annette Chambers Rodriguez, Janet Cauthen, Karry Kay Matson and JoAnn Thames. There will be a silent auction, business meeting and lots and lots of visiting and memories of times gone by. A barbecue lunch will be available at noon, catered by Wilhite’s of Creedmoor.

The chefs at Onion Creek Senior Citizens Center will again cook up King Ranch Chicken Casseroles to sell as a fundraiser for the new center. There will be two sizes, $12 (serves 4) and $17 (serves 8). To place an order, call 295-2416, 295-2791 or 468-4451. Casseroles will be ready for pick-up Wednesday, April 13 after 5 p.m. or Thursday, April 14 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the senior center.
