Celebrate locally this holiday season

Mountain City Montage

by PAULINE TOM

Celebrate local! On the weekend of our 40th week of “40 Weeks of Celebrating 40 Years”, “Night in Bethlehem” kept us close to home. We lacked not fun ways to mark the milestone: Leaning Pear in Wimberley, Wimberley Playhouse musical, Fellowship at Plum Creek, Buda’s Viuda Bistro and Serenity Farmhouse Inn, Wimberley.

Grand finale “glamping” will take place in a few weeks when our calendar unjampacks and the soon-to-come all-the-rave Japanese soaking tub on the back deck heats up under the stars at Sinya on Lone Man Creek near Wimberley. Luxury, safari-style adventure! Seriously, it’s a large safari tent with luxury linens, a view, and much more.

Hay is like gold this year. With the drought, the Free Press had a story of the imports from out of state. Thank goodness, RonTom and I saved back hay from our nativity scene last year. I invite you to see it (the nativity scene, with hay), on the left, almost to the end of Live Oak Drive, Mountain City. It proclaims, “For unto us a Savior is born.”

Does that have you singing, “and unto us a son is given”? Sing along to Handel’s Messiah on Sunday, December 18, 4:30 p.m. at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. And, the other direction, there’s one more weekend of “Journey of the Wise Men” at Wizard Academy.

On every weekend and weekday, I accept tidbits for “Montage”. [email protected] or 268-5678. Thanks! Love to you! And, Merry Christmas!
