The son of a Buda resident was among the two victims of the massive Central Texas wildfires this week.
Michael Troy Farr, 48, died at his home in Smithville on Monday. He had evacuated Sunday evening but returned the next morning to retrieve some tools he had left behind, the Statesman reports.
Farr was a former high school soccer star and a City of Austin employee. His mother, Linda Appleton, lives in Buda.
"He was very shy, very quiet," Appleton told the Statesman. "The only time he ever put up with the spotlight was when he was playing soccer."
