Liz Shelton of Buda competed in the Danskin Triathlon in Austin on Sunday and placed 3rd in her age division of 30-34 and was 30th overall. A total of 1,038 women completed the triathlon, which consisted of a half-mile swim, 12-mile bicycle ride and three mile run. Shelton’s time was 1:25:29.
Yea! Round 6 is over! Allison (Bauder) Goodson has completed all of her chemo treatments with the completion of the sixth session last week. Goodson will continue weekly doctor appointments with her oncologist and follow up with monthly chest x-rays and CT scans each quarter. Goodson has been in a battle with cancer since last December when she learned that there was a malignant tumor in the calf region of her leg. Through surgery, chemo and everything in between, Ali has remained the strongest of strong women and has had so many wonderful relatives and friends supporting her with their prayers.

The first summer concert at Buda City Park will be Friday, June 10, starting at 8 p.m. featuring RockStella & the Hayden Thomas Band. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and snacks and enjoy the free music.

The annual Texas Hold’em Poker tournament on Sunday, June 26, at the Onion Creek Senior Citizens Center could still use a few more players. Cost is $30 donation with all proceeds benefiting the building fund of the new senior center in Buda. There will be good prizes, good snacks and good fun so don’t miss it.
