Eagle Scouts honored for service

STAFF REPORT


Four new Eagle Scouts from Troop 125 were honored with the highest award in scouting at a Court of Honor ceremony at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Kyle.


Allan Matthew Tirk, 18, is a sophomore at Austin Community College and son of Allan and Lisa Tirk. His service project was reconstructing unsafe pavilion bleachers for St. Anthony Catholic Church.


Chase Philip McCabe, 19, is a sophomore at the University of Texas and the son of Richard Egal and Virginia Egal. For his service project, Chase constructed four wooden picnic tables for St. Anthony Catholic Church in Kyle.


Royce Paul McCabe, 18, is a freshman at the University of Texas and son of Richard Egal and Virginia Egal. For his service project, Royce erected a flagpole and solar powered light for the  flag pole for the Kyle Cemetery. The flagpole was a recycled electric utility pole that was donated by the San Marcos Masonic Lodge.


Jonathan Troy Warren, 14, is a freshman at Hays High School and son of Ron and Beth Warren. Jonathan refurbished the gazebo at Manchaca United Methodist Church for his service project. The gazebo is part of the on-site community gardens through the Eco-Faith Initiative at Manchaca United Methodist Church.
