After a year of lockdown and cancelled events, the city of Buda is bringing life back to its residents through a variety of occasions.
Residents will get to reconnect, shop and enjoy the arts outdoors through planned activities in May, June and July.
Here is a list of events coming to Buda:
Buda in Bloom, May 23 - This free event will celebrate spring by bringing plant vendors, a live DJ, tea tasting and more to Ash St. and Main St. from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Ash St. will be closed to make availability for a seating area.
Market in the Park, starting June 5 - The Buda tradition was halted for almost a year, but it will resume starting June 5, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Arts in the Park - Concerts and movies in the park will resume. Summer concerts are planned for June 4, June 18 and July 16. Movie showings will take place on June 11, June 25 and July 23. These will be alternating Fridays at the Buda City Park at the Amphitheater.
Buda Sip N Stroll, June 25 - The event will have 15 retail and 5 food vendors and will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online at www.downtownbudatx.com.
Summer Ready Program - The library’s summer reading program is back for children and teens. Registration opens May 17 at www.budalibrary.org. On June 3 at 2 p.m. there will be a virtual petting zoo and on the same day, summer reading logs will be available for pick up at the library.
Mobile Vaccine Clinic, May 28 - A mobile vaccine clinic will be coming to the Buda City Hall parking lot starting at 8 a.m.
Additionally, the city would like to gauge residents' opinions on what it can do to better serve the community through the park systems. Through June 1, residents can go online to let the city know their thoughts about the Buda parks proposal. www.budaparks.com
