Elena A. Rodriguez, our beloved mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on August 26, 2011 at the age of 95. She was born in Manor on August 18, 1916 to Daniel and Nicomedes Arismendez. She lived her life to the fullest and enjoyed life with friends and family, especially her grandchildren. She was a devoted and die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan.
She is survived by daughters, Jane Alcala and Mary L. Alcala Rodriguez; son, Frank Rodriguez Jr. and wife, Juanita; brother, Bernardo Arismendez; sister, Dolores Schaffer; 8 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren; also numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members that all loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Rodriguez Sr.; parents; brother, Carlos Arismendez; sisters, Dominga and Delfina Arismendez; grandson, John Alcala and grandaughter, Julie Alcala.
A Mass was celebrated on Monday, August 29, 2011 at Santa Cruz Catholic Church in Buda.
