Isaac throws hat into the ring
State Rep. Jason Isaac, R-Dripping Springs, has formally announced his bid for re-election.
Voted into office in November 2010, Isaac represents Hays, Blanco and Caldwell counties. If re-elected he would represent Hays and Blanco counties following redistricting this past spring.
Isaac cited his first-term achievements as having passed legislation that assisted veterans, protected Second Amendment rights and fought to provide resources for Texas State University.
“It’s crucial that Texas continue the policies of fiscal restraint and free enterprise that have allowed us to become the driving force of the nation,” he said in the release. “I look forward to continuing to earn the vote of my constituents by fighting for their principles and values in Austin.”
Rehearing denied regarding ACC expansion
An appeals court has denied a rehearing for a Kyle dentist who is suing Austin Community College to stop its planned expansion into the Kyle-Buda area.
In an opinion filed Thursday, the Third Court of Appeals also overruled Ray Wolbrecht’s request that it reconsider a previous decision to dismiss his lawsuit. That opinion was handed down in July.
Wolbrecht did not return a call seeking comment.
