Benefits, bazaars and sales, oh my!

Buda Bits
by SANDRA GRIZZLE

All the little doggies that invaded Buda last weekend have gone home to rest up after two days of racing. It was a very fine time for the Country Fair and Wiener Dog Races and many people were on hand who supported all the activities. A big “thank you” goes out to all the Lions (men and women) who worked so hard to make the event so special for our town and all the non-profit organizations that benefitted financially from it.

A benefit sale will be held Saturday, May 14 from 7:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Ministries at 401 RR 967 for Faith Weatherford. The Texas School for the Deaf has selected Weatherford to attend an educational/science event in Florida this summer. Many of you will remember that Weatherford was badly burned when she was 21 months old and has had to undergo many surgeries in her short life. She is a very lovely, deserving teenager and it is great that the community can help her. Should you desire to contribute items to the sale, contact JoAnn Keller at 295-2416.
